Paul Cayard is a seven-time sailing world champion, a six-time America’s Cup veteran and two-time Olympian. Paul Cayard was the first American skipper to win the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1998 on EF Language. In 2005-06, Paul skippered the Disney entry, Pirates of the Caribbean in the Volvo Ocean Race, winning the final leg into Gothenburg (Sweden) to place second overall.
In 2009, Paul Cayard joined Artemis Racing as CEO of the Swedish team representing the KSSS. Artemis Racing is the Challenger of Record for the 34th America’s Cup and also competes in the RC44 Championship Tour, Extreme Sailing Series and Vulcain Trophy.
Paul Cayard’s accolades include election to the Sailing World Hall of Fame in 2002, Rolex Yachtsman of the Year (1998) and winning the Star World Championships in 1988. Paul is also a Rolex Ambassador and frequently commentates on yachting on television.
